iRidium for EIB/KNX

iRidium turns your iPhone / iPod touch / iPad or Windows device into the KNX system control panel.

With the help of the iRidium GUI Editor you can create beautiful interfaces with animation and magnificent visual effects.

There is an import of channels and commands from the ETS project. After the import completion, a fast channels and commands binding to the control items (buttons, lists, sliders, text fields, etc.) is performed with the help of the drag&drop function.


Communication between iRidium and KNX/EIB network is established through IP gateway. You can use either standard IP routers (such as JUNG, GIRA, Siemens, Berker and others) or dedicated devices such as  Weinzierl KNX IP BAOS (771, 772).


We recommend you use the above said dedicated devices as they have properties required for communication between iRidium and KNX/EIB network.


There are two main advantages of these devices:


1. Support of up to 10 simultaneously connected Clients (as opposed to a standard IP router that supports a single connection only). It enables to control KNX equipment from 10 devices at a time (iPad, iPhone, etc.).
2. When a device (control panel) is shut down incorrectly, the gateway does not “hang” as opposed to standard KNX IP routers.

iRidium for KNX contains all the capabilities of other iRidium AV CONTROL product, owing to which you can quickly and easily adjust your AV equipment control.

iRidium software package for KNX includes 4 components:

iRidium Client - is installed on your iPhone / iPod touch / iPad or Windows device. iRidium Client controls your KNX system with the help of a ready panel design.

iRidium GUI Editor - allows you to create beautiful interfaces with animation and magnificent visual effects.
iRidium Transfer - the application for uploading graphic interfaces prepared with iRidium GUI Editor (IRP) or AMX TPDesign4 (TP4) to iPad/iPhone/iPod touch. Besides, iRidium Transfer allows you to convert interfaces (IRP, TP4) into the format for their launching on Windows XP/7 devices.

iRidium Gate -  is an application for interaction with the equipment that does not support simultaneous connection of two and more devices or control via Ethernet/Wi-Fi. For instance, using iRidium Gate is possible to control EIB/KNX equipment via a single IP Router; Transform TCP into the protocol supported by target equipment (e.g. serial) as well as use various types of data transformation to control HDL Smart-Bus, Modbus TCP/ASCII/RTU and X10 equipment .

A single iRidium (iPhone / iPad / Windows) Base license allows you to control your KNX system from a single device (iPhone / iPod touch / iPad or Windows panel).
